about

KARAGE! is a series of 45s with modern day artists singing and playing to vintage '60s backing tracks. Volume One features Mal Thursday (The Mal Thursday Quintet, The Malarians, Mal Thursday & The Cheetahs) adds vocals and harmonica to the previously unfinished track "Every Night a New Surprise" by Neal Ford & The Fanatics, recorded in Houston in 1966. The song was written by Fanatics organist Steve Ames, who later gave it to another Houston group, The Moving Sidewalks, featuring a young Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), who released it as the B-Side of "Need Me" in 1967. On the flipside, Mal rips into the garage classic "No Good Woman," over the original backing track by The Tree, out of Wilmington, Delaware. Yea-yuh!
